Sleepwatchers was founded as a comprehensive sleep disorders center in February 2002 by Kathryn Kane, PhD, RPSGT. Dr. Kane has experience as a sleep technologist, emergency medical technician, electrocardiography technician, durable medical equipment sales, and regional sales representative for sleep acquisition equipment. Recently, Dr. Kane began offering behavioral sleep medicine therapy services for our clients which contributes to our ability to improve compliance with treatment recommendations as well as offer comprehensive treatment for sleep disorders such as insomnia and circadian rhythm disorders.
Our medical director, Alfred Habel, MD, FAASM, completed his medical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1990. He received post-graduate training at Hennepin County Medical Center and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. The extensive training Dr. Habel received during his fellowship at the Mayo Clinic prepared him to be an extremely knowledgeable sleep physician. Dr. Habel subsequently founded the United Hospital System sleep center in Kenosha, WI where his many years of experience have shaped his ability to help patients resolve their sleep problems in a supportive and caring manner.
